Stump Grinder Training

Operate stump grinding equipment safely and effectively with our LANTRA-accredited stump grinder training, delivered by GVA Training. Designed for those working across arboriculture, landscaping, forestry and grounds maintenance, this hands-on course builds the practical skills and safety awareness needed to use these powerful machines with confidence.

Stump grinders are highly effective tools for removing tree stumps, but they can pose significant risks if used incorrectly. This course provides the knowledge, techniques and legal awareness required to work safely, helping both operators and employers meet responsibilities under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).

Delivered by experienced instructors, the training combines practical machine operation with essential health and safety guidance. Learners will gain an understanding of correct operating techniques, risk assessment, maintenance and site safety, ensuring they can work efficiently while protecting themselves, colleagues and the public.

This is an integrated training and assessment course, and successful completion leads to a LANTRA certificate of competence.

Training is available at the GVA Training Centre in Halifax or can be delivered on-site for organisations requiring team-based training.

Ideal for individuals, contractors, local authorities and land-based businesses, this course supports safe, compliant stump grinding operations and helps build confidence in real working environments.
