All Terrain Vehicle Training

Sit-in Conventional Steer

Whether you’re new to ATVs or an experienced operator, our LANTRA-accredited Sit-in Conventional Steer All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) training course provides the skills and knowledge needed to operate these versatile machines safely and confidently in real working environments.

Sit-in conventional steer ATVs are essential tools across agriculture and the wider land-based industries, but their flexibility and power mean that improper use can lead to serious incidents. This course focuses on safe riding techniques, hazard awareness, and legal compliance, helping operators reduce risk while improving efficiency and control.

Training is delivered by expert instructors and takes place on our purpose-built ATV training track, allowing learners to gain practical experience across a range of terrains and conditions, including slopes, uneven ground, and simulated work scenarios. New operators will develop core riding skills, while experienced users can refine their technique and maximise vehicle capability.

The course covers key fundamentals such as pre-use checks, loading and towing, route planning, and understanding health, safety, and legal requirements. Assessed certification options are also available for specialised ATV operations, depending on individual and organisational requirements.

Successful completion leads to a LANTRA Certificate of Competence. Training is delivered at our GVA Training Centre in Halifax, with flexible on-site options available where appropriate.
